Making of the Loog Piano: May Update

Making of the Loog Piano: May Update

Hello Loog Piano backers!

Rafa here with our monthly update! I'm sure many of you are relieved that I haven't disappeared! 😅

Things are going "slow but well" (it's getting a little bit repetitive, I know...) and while we are a bit behind schedule, we are still expecting to ship some units before the end of May. Here's the current shipping timeline:

  • We expect to have about 500 units ready to ship by May 30.
  • We expect to ship 2,000 more units by mid June.
  • We expect to ship the remaining rewards (roughly 1,000 more pianos) by the end of June.
  • Very Important: Next week we'll finally send the email with the shipping surveys via PledgeManager! 🥳
Those who have backed other Kickstarter projects would know, but for the rest: this survey is where you'll enter your shipping address, confirm your reward, and -if you want to- add accessories or even another Loog Piano (or guitar).

So, things are indeed going a bit slower than expected, and I want to apologize for that, but there's light at the end of the tunnel and I really hope the wait will be worth it.

In these past weeks we made good progress on the piano itself and also on all the little extra details: packaging, accessories, flashcards, app, etc.

Here are a few very recent photos -most from May 14 and 15-, for those of you who enjoy the production process (And also as further proof that we are indeed working hard to ship these as soon as possible! 😬)

This is where the magic happens: the casting production line.
The product label with all the required blurb and compliance symbols: a last-minute mandatory addition to the Loog Piano.
A first glimpse at the loog piano packaging.
Super happy with how the aluminium modular legs came out: they look, feel and do the job really well.
Little pouch bag containing the Loog Piano flashcards with chord diagrams and scales.
Prototyping the octave shifter and making final adjustments to the design.

As always, thanks a million for your patience and continued support and apologies again for the delays. We are putting our hearts in making these Loog Pianos and I can't wait for you to receive them.

All the best,
Rafa
